As volunteers (as opposed to employees), the Adjunct Clinical Faculty are not eligible for employment benefits, including vacation and sick leave accrual.

A leave of absence for a period of up to one year may be recommended by the department chair and approved by the Vice Dean (or a designate).  Extension of the leave of absence for a maximum total leave of up to two years may be requested by the Adjunct Clinical Faculty and may be recommended by the department chair and approved by the Vice Dean (or a designate).  Extraordinary circumstances may, on occasion, justify a recommendation for extension of the leave of absence beyond two years to a maximum total leave period of three years.

Approval of leaves of absence will be based on such factors as programmatic need and compliance with applicable policies (e.g., Conflict of Interest and Commitment).
