9.1.A. Clinical Scholar Role

A concurrent part-time Clinical Scholar appointment for a Fellow or a subspecialty Resident employed by Stanford Health Care (SHC) that will allow a trainee to provide clinical care or clinical teaching, or both, outside the scope of their residency or fellowship training program.

For OPA trainees, the Clinical Scholar appointment should not exceed 25% FTE and the combined total percent of the appointments may not exceed 100% FTE.

This title must be used for any OPA/GME Fellow or Resident that is extended a clinical appointment in SoM.

The Clinical Scholar must be a licensed M.D. (or equivalent medical degree), Ph.D. or hold a terminal degree in their field.
