DIVERSITY IS A CORE VALUE

Our goal is to draw from people with a variety of backgrounds and life experiences to reach a new level of innovation in instruction, research, and patient care. Varied perspectives encourage new strategies that ensure diversity is reflected in our programs, culture, and leadership.

Meet Stanford Medicine’s Inaugural Chief Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Officer: Dr. Joyce Sackey

“I know Stanford Medicine will continue to have innovative and creative ideas for achieving inclusive excellence and health equity. I look forward to new models and interventions that we’ll put in place to promote these priorities. My hope is that individuals come to feel a shared sense of mission and that coming to work is joyful. That will have ripple effects across our health care system.”

The REACH Initiative

The Racial Equity to Advance a Community of Health (REACH) Initiative at Stanford Medicine is dedicated to training a new generation of leaders in medicine and science who will actively promote health equity, racial equity, and social justice and work to reduce our society’s devastating health disparities.
