2018 Adolescent Mental Wellness Conference:
Overcoming Cultural Barriers to Access

The Stanford Psychiatry Center for Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing (CYMHW) once again partnered with Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and the Division of Adolescent Medicine to hold it's second Adolescent Mental Wellness Conference, April 27-28th at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Over 80 speakers and 500 multidisciplinary participants came together to focus on the theme of Overcoming Cultural Barriers to Access. Plenary panels address cultural barriers to accessing mental health care, the impact of marijuana legalization on mental health, the experience of non-binary youth today, and media best practices on suicide prevention. This highly successful event brought together policymakers from the local and state levels, educators, families, youth and educators for a rich two days of learning and discussion.
