Welcome to Stanford Psychiatry's Residency Programs
General Psychiatry Residency Program
The ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency offers a unique blend of clinical and research opportunities, coupled with a sense of collegiality, cohesiveness, and deep care about residents’ individual development in the context of a wealth of resources at Stanford University. The curriculum features a scholarly concentration program, starting early in residency, that allows residents to pursue their interests with individualized training and research. Residents are supported in cultivating careers that involve leadership, specialization, and academic growth.
Triple Board Residency Program
The Triple Board Program is a five-year program that combines educational opportunities in Pediatrics, General (Adult) Psychiatry, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. It prepares the trainee to be board-certified in all three fields. The first two years of residency are dedicated to Pediatrics, with the final three years focused on Adult, Family, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Our program has two positions each year through the categorical match of the NRMP.
