Why did you pursue a career in medicine?
I wanted to be able to work with people while also doing science. Medicine offers so many different opportunities and paths.
What is a challenge you experience in pursuing a career in medicine?
Finding the appropriate work-life balance. Being pulled in too many directions between work and personal life. It is easy to become overextended.
What is the most fulfilling part of your work?
Collaborating with others on difficult problems. It is very satisfying to come up new ideas and approaches.
What strategies do you use to maintain your own well-being?
Get outside and breathe. Cocktails with friends is lovely, as well!
What advice would you give someone starting in the field?
Be open to new collaborations and opportunities.
