Why did you pursue a career in medicine?
Medicine seemed like the best fit. I enjoyed science classes and wanted to help people. I had a chemistry teacher who really inspired me to love science and my older sister encouraged me to go to medical school.
What is a challenge you experience in pursuing a career in medicine?
Finding balance between work and family.
What is the most fulfilling part of your work?
I love taking care of patients and working with residents and students.
What strategies do you use to maintain your own well-being?
I like to stay active, walking, running and hiking with friends. I try to prioritize spending time with my family, especially eating dinner together as often as possible.
What advice would you give someone starting in the field?
Work hard but enjoy the process, practicing medicine is an incredible privilege.
