Application Steps
1. Review the components of the application and prepare all materials needed.
2. Prepare the following attachments for the application:
Resume
Please upload a resume that summarizes your education, work, and extracurricular activities.
- Academic Record
We require an unofficial transcript for each school or academic program you have taken courses at while in high school.
Your high school transcript must include Fall 2025 grades.
Letter of Recommendation
1 letter of recommendation must be included with your application. This letter must be from a high school science or math teacher.
In the application, you will enter your recommender's contact information and they will receive an email from the application system to submit the letter.
Income Verification
If you are applying for a need-based stipend, please upload 1 of the following as income verification:
First two pages of parent/guardians’ most recent 1040 or 1099 tax return
Social Security benefits letter
Unemployment benefits letter
Proof of eligibility for free or reduced-price lunch
Other income verification document if you are unable to provide official documentation
3. Submit your application and materials by the application deadline.
4. Submit payment for the application fee of $50 (non-refundable).
5. Fee waiver option: The application fee can be waived if a student's gross family income is under $90,000 or if the student has special circumstances that make it difficult to pay. We encourage applications from students from low socioeconomic backgrounds and will waive the application fee in these instances.
- Students can apply for a fee waiver after creating a PIPS application account. Then proceed to the "Application Fee" tab to apply for a fee waiver.
- Waiver Request Deadline: All waiver requests must be submitted by Sunday, February 22, 2026. We strongly encourage students to submit waiver applications early to avoid delays in submitting their PIPS application.
