Digital Ophthalmic Pathology Resources

The Stanford’s Ophthalmic Pathology Service evaluates specimens received from eye, orbit, and ocular adnexa in and around the eye. This includes both inflammatory and neoplastic lesions, and surgical and autopsy specimens.

To provide an on-line teaching resource for resident education, we have assembled a couple atlas links encompassing several digitized ophthalmic pathology slides. Please visit the links below to view the slides.

How to Rotate Images:

American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Pathology Atlas

The Pathology Atlas offers virtual microscopy images from the field, contributed by ophthalmic pathologists. Review normal-eye anatomy and ophthalmic diseases and conditions across the spectrum of eye care.

The Pathology Atlas is now accessible to anyone irrespective of Academy membership. Please register a free account (if you don't have one already) to login and access the atlas.
