International Rotation
Every resident has the opportunity to pursue an individualized international experience of their choosing. Our faculty have a wide network of international relationships, and residents have many opportunities to choose from such as travel to Belize, Nepal, China, India, Ghana, and Ethiopia, just to name a few countries. Many residents take advantage of opportunities at the Stanford Belize Vision Clinic, established under the direction of Dr. Caroline Fisher, and opportunities in Nepal and Africa through the Himalayan Cataract Project led by Dr. Geoff Tabin. In the recent past, residents have also gone on a yearly medical mission to Guatemala to perform cataract surgery.
