Ocular Oncology and Eye Tumors
Ocular Oncology and Eye Tumors
The new Ocular and Orbital Oncology Service at the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford is one of only a small number of centers in California and throughout the nation which provide dedicated care for intraocular and periocular cancers for adults and children.
Fellowship-trained subspecialists on the Ocular and Orbital Oncology Service deliver a full range of innovative approaches to manage tumors of the eye, conjunctiva, iris, retina, and choroid; eyelid, tear duct, and orbital and periorbital structures. Care is also provided to the cancer patient with treatment-related vision side effects.
Ocular and orbital tumor treatments are performed by a Stanford multi-disciplinary team that includes medical and radiation oncologists, otolaryngologists, neurosurgeons, and social workers in the Stanford Health Care and the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital to provide integrated, multidisciplinary care.
Dr. Mruthyunjaya anchors the ocular tumor service; click here for our comprehensive orbital oncology program.
