The Byers Eye Institute at Stanford is dedicated to providing the highest level of innovative eye and vision care across all subspecialties in ophthalmology.
Our fellowship trained cornea faculty are internationally recognized for their clinical and surgical expertise, research discoveries, and global health contributions. Through sophisticated diagnostic and imaging technology, we offer expert care in the management of corneal disorders including dry eye, corneal ulcers, Fuchs dystrophy, and keratoconus.
Our cornea surgeons are highly experienced and provide cutting edge surgical procedures. We offer all forms of corneal transplantation, including DMEK, ultra-thin DSAEK, PKP, DALK, and keratoprosthesis, as well as other procedures such as the recently FDA-approved Corneal cross-linking technique.
The cornea service has an active research program and we are proud to offer our patients the opportunity to participate in clinical trials and thus offer them the latest in therapeutic advancements. Please see our clinical trials webpage for a list of current trials.
We provide experience expertise in treatment of cornea and disorders of the eyelid and outer eye, especially infections and immunologic disorders.
