Anesthesiology Fellowships Application Process
The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine hosts a number of ACGME clinical fellowships through Stanford Health Care, research postdoctoral scholar appointments and Advanced Clinical Experiences through Stanford University School of Medicine. Our ACGME anesthesiology fellowships include pain medicine, adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology, pediatric anesthesiology, anesthesiology critical care medicine, obstetric anesthesiology and regional anesthesiology & acute pain medicine. For information on applying to these fellowships, visit the ACGME Clinical Fellowships webpage and choose the specialty you are interested in.
Research Postdoc Application Process
Please visit the Research Division webpage, click on the area of research you are interested in and contact the principal investigator specific to their area to communicate interest in applying.
When accepted into a research postdoc position, you are required to submit the following items and an application form (which can be obtained from the program):
- A current CV
- A personal statement
- A copy of your medical school diploma, PhD diploma, or both

Postdoctoral scholars are primarily appointed through the J1 visa program, but if you have specific visa questions do not hesitate to contact us.

International SoM Postdoctoral Scholars
International School of Medicine fellow applicants may have special needs or questions. Two helpful resources are the Office of Postdoctoral Affair and the Bechtel International Center.
