Training Grant Data System (TGDS)

The Training Grant Data System automates the collection and organization of information needed for the Data Tables of an NIH Institutional Research Training Grant (T32) application/renewal and progress/final report. The Data Tables are also utilized by other NIH training grants: K12/KL2, R25, T15, and T35. Visit RMG's Training Grant Data System (TGDS) webpage for more information.

Federal Agency Disclosure Resources

Federal agencies have expanded their disclosure requirements to include all paid or in-kind resources supporting a PI’s research program, whether the support is made through Stanford or provided directly to the PI. These resources are specific to the National Institutes of Health. Visit RMG's Federal Agency Disclosure Resources webpage for more information.

NIH Scientific Data Sharing

Please visit NIH's new website on Scientific Data Sharing. Whether you are involved in an NIH-funded project and want to understand which sharing policies apply to your research and how to comply, or you are a researcher looking to access scientific data from NIH-affiliated repositories, this site is for you. Additional guidance is currently under development.

NIH Two-Factor Authentication: Access eRA Commons Modules via login.gov

Carefully review additional details in the links above since the guidance is different depending on your account type.
While there is an adjusted timeline for transitioning those with scientific accounts, it is recommended that these are transitioned ASAP so that access is not abruptly halted to eRA Commons.
NIH has indicated that 45 days after a trigger event*, scientific account holders will not be able to access eRA Modules until they set up and use a two-factor authentication.
*Trigger event = submission of a competing application (Type 1 or 2) or an RPPR and will affect all PI’s and Senior/Key personnel associated.

New NIH “Forms-G” Grant Application Forms and Instructions Are Incoming for Due Dates on or after January 25, 2022

There will be revised grant application forms and instructions for due dates on or after January 25, 2022.
A high-level summary of the changes may be found in the link above.
The revised form instructions/application guides are expected in Fall 2021.

New NIH Requirement: eRA Commons IDs for all Senior/Key Personnel

NOT-OD-21-109: https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-21-109.html (read notice for additional details).
Beginning with due dates on or after January 25, 2022, all individuals who are identified and listed as Senior/Key personnel on NIH, AHRQ, FDA, and ORD/VA applications will require an eRA Commons username (Commons ID).
When reaching out to Senior/Key personnel, make sure to ask them for their eRA Commons IDs. Stanford Senior/Key personnel who do not have eRA Commons IDs should reach out to their Institutional Official to obtain an eRA Commons ID.
Stanford IO’s cannot provide or make eRA Commons ID’s for Senior/Key Personnel outside Stanford, so please make sure to ask Senior/Key outside Stanford what their eRA Commons ID’s are and that they should work with their Institutions to obtain one if they don’t have.
