Proposal Preparation & Submission
The Research Management Group (RMG) handles proposal submissions for all external funding (federal, foundations, & industry sponsors). Most proposals for internal funding at Stanford can be submitted directly to the program by the PI/Department as indicated in the announcement.
RMG requests a 30 day or more advanced notification with budgetary information for all proposal submissions. Early notice helps the Research Process Manager (RPM) manage the workload more efficiently and provide better and timelier service.
The School of Medicine Internal Proposal Deadline Policy requires that the administrative components of your application be submitted to your Research Process Manager (RPM) at least 5 full business days in advance and the final proposal at least 3 full business days prior to the sponsors due date.
NIH Guidance: SciENcv and Current & Pending (Other) Support
The NIH implemented updated Common Forms requirements for Biosketches and Current & Pending (Other) Support (CPOS) effective January 25, 2026. These changes impact how information is prepared, where it is entered (SciENcv), and how it is reviewed as part of the proposal submission process.
