The IT Services Group consists of:

• Infrastructure Services Group provides school-wide networking (wired and wireless), data center, desktop support and multimedia/AV services.
• Educational Technology Services provides a highly coordinated set of educational planning and support services to support the innovative and appropriate use of teaching technology throughout the school.
• Privacy and Data Security provides school-wide data security and ensures compliance with HIPAA and other privacy mandates.

The Web & Systems Engineering Group consists of:

• Web & New Media Services provides general oversight for the School of Medicine's web presence and a wide range of support for the more than 300 public websites associated with the school. The group sets web publishing standards and policies, provides training and support for departmental web authors, and builds static and dynamic websites for groups across the school.
• Systems Engineering & Architecture is the software development arm of IRT. The group supports the School's missions through the use of innovative technology. Working in concert with other IRT organizations and directly with the Medical School community, we build web and desktop applications which support biomedical research, education, information retrieval, collaboration, and other mission critical business functions.
• Administrative Systems & Technology oversees the development and maintenance of the School's administrative computing environment.

Lane Library & Knowledge Management Center creates opportunities for discovery, translation, learning and collaboration by providing faculty, staff, and students with easy, efficient access to in-context knowledge whenever and wherever it is needed to support patient care, education and research. The KMC focuses on acquisition and integration of knowledge sources, consultation and instruction in information finding and manipulation, learning spaces and computing labs, and technology support for the curriculum.

Finance & Administration oversees the finance, budgeting, purchasing, contracting, human resources and other administrative functions of IRT.

Stanford Center for Clinical Informatics (SCCI). The core mission of SCCI is to foster the development of an interdisciplinary program of applied biomedical informatics focused on novel applications of information technology and computer science to health care, translational & clinical research, and biomedical knowledge management. The Center provides a free Informatics Consultation Service to assist SUMC researchers in meeting HIPAA privacy and security requirements, obtaining clinical data, and developing research data management solutions. Many of the Center's efforts to support clinical and translational research are centered around the STRIDE project: http://stride.stanford.edu

Center for Immersive & Simulation Based Learning (CISL) . Headed by Dr. David Gaba, this new center will define the School's use of immersive and simulation-based technologies to support our clinical, research and educational missions.

SUMMIT is a center in the School of Medicine dedicated to putting Stanford University at the forefront of medical and life-sciences education through the innovative use of information technology. We achieve this through research and curricular project development; working in partnership with faculty, students and research groups.
