Below is a partial lists of podcasts that are useful in learning about racial identify formation, racism, and other facets of identity. A few podcasts listed below offer presentations and analysis of news, culture and human experience through a social justice lens. We have provided links below, but you should be able to find these by searching for them on your favorite podcast app as well.

Asian American History 101: A podcast co-hosted by Gen and Ted Lai, a daughter and father team. The podcast will entertain and educate people as Gen and Ted dive into the vast history of Asian Americans from their contributions to their struggles to their triumphs.

Lady Don’t Take No (Alicia Garza): Created by BLM co-founder Alicia Garza for people who like their political commentary with a side of beauty recommendations. It’s her tribute to the Bay Area’s unique way of getting things done. Garza will divulge her hot takes on everything from why Fenty Beauty saves lives, to how to handle microaggressions at the airport.
NYT 1619 (Nikole Hannah-Jones): A New York Times audio series, hosted by Nikole Hannah-Jones, that examines the long shadow of American slavery.

Pod for the Cause (Leadership Conference on Civil & Human Rights): Produced by The Leadership Conference on Civil & Human Rights, this podcast aims to spark conversation and activism on some of the most critical issues of today.
Pod Save the People (DeRay McKesson, Brittany Packnett, Sam Sinyangwe, Dr. Clint Smith III): Organizer and activist DeRay Mckesson explores news, culture, social justice, and politics with fellow activists Brittany Packnett Cunningham and Sam Sinyangwe, and writer Dr. Clint Smith. They offer a unique take on the news, with a special focus on overlooked stories and topics that often impact people of color. There’s also a weekly one-on-one interview with DeRay and special guests, from singer/songwriter John Legend to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
The Praxis Podcast (Edwin Lindo, JD): This podcast aims to directly address and explore the effects of racism and other forms of marginalization so that we can collectively achieve health justice.
