The Academies Collaborative fosters and champions teaching academies and similar organizations to develop and recognize educators’ excellence in the health professions. The Academies Collaborative strives to become a national community of academies that drives institutional commitment to educators and excellence in teaching in the health professions. The Academies Collaborative meets each fall in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Association of American Medical Colleges.

Entering Mentoring: A Seminar to Train a New Generation of Scientists

Mentoring Manual, Institute for Broadening Participation Pathways to Science
The Institute for Broadening Participation online-based Mentoring Manual provides an overview of the mentor's responsibilities and further guidance on a variety of topics that come into play in the faculty-student relationship. Topics include how faculty may provide advice or counsel on personal issues, prepare for unexpected situations, talk about gender or race with their mentees, calibrate to meet mentee needs and balance challenge with support, and maintaining a long-term relationship with the mentee.
