Away Rotations for Medical Students

Scheduling an Away Rotation

We encourage medical students to enroll in rotations in general pediatrics or one of the many pediatric subspecialties here at LPCH. Rotations provide opportunities for exposure to our diverse patient population and allow students to interface with our residents and faculty.

Stanford Medical School offers a maximum of three months of elective rotations to students who are currently enrolled in their fourth or final year M.D. or D.O. program at a school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education or Education Department of the American Osteopathic Association.

All visiting rotations are scheduled through the Office of Student Services. Visiting students are scheduled during the time specified for each quarter because Stanford medical students have priority in taking these electives.  Financial assistance is available.
