Visiting MD Students

From LCME or AOA participating schools

Stanford Medicine is not accepting visiting students in academic year 2020-21. Our visiting student program will start to resume in P3 of 2021-22.  We are limiting the acceptance of applications to the clerkships requiring preapproval listed below.  Applications without preapproval from the department will not be processed.

Stanford Medicine offers a maximum of one 4-week elective rotation to students who are currently enrolled in their fourth or final year MD program at a school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education or Education Department of the American Osteopathic Association (for details, see "Eligibility Requirements" under the How to Apply section).

All visiting rotations are scheduled through the Office of Medical Student Affairs.  Since Stanford medical students have priority to take these electives, visiting students are only scheduled during the time specified for each quarter.
