What is the Biomedical & Biosciences Industry Expo?

The Biomedical & Bioscience Industry Expo (BBIE) is an annual event was originally developed by the student group Stanford Biosciences Students Association (SBSA) and is currently hosted by BioSci Careers. More than just a career fair, the event allows students to develop relationships with a core group of companies and professionals from various sectors. BBIE is also a formal channel for learning about job opportunities and company culture, it showcases current research and trends, and it stimulates the exchange of scientific ideas and dialogue between employers and Stanford students, alumni, and faculty.

Event highlights include:

  • Connections to organizations in biotechnology, business, entrepreneurship, education, communications, government, healthcare, consulting, and law
  • On site career coaching
  • Coffee cart for casual networking with alumni, company representatives, and peers
  • Convenient, open floor for easy access to companies and organizations

 

*Be sure to upload your resume/CV to Handshake before the event. For this, go to your Handshake account, go to My Profile, go to Documents tab/section and add your resume/CV. Once added, make sure you click on Feature on Profile/Visible for that document. If you do not click on Feature on Profile/Visible, employers will not be able to view your document.

Participation in BBIE is free for all Stanford trainees and alumni. (Trainees include undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, medical students, and residents.) Trainees may register prior to the event or at the door. SU ID required.

Biotech Startup Career Fair

Due to consistent feedback from our student population, we are excited to announce our new Biotech Startup Career Fair every fall. This career fair provides an outstanding opportunity to build connections with local biotech startups and learn more about internships and various career options within startups. It is also a formal channel for learning about job opportunities and company culture, it showcases current research and trends, and it stimulates the exchange of scientific ideas and dialogue between employers and Stanford students, alumni, and faculty.

Event highlights include:

  • Connections to local startups that are hiring now
  • A fun chance to network with employers and students over an informal pizza lunch
  • A diverse representation of new companies from the Biotech sector
  • Support and preparation from BioSci Careers before and after the event
