Research Career Accelerator Program (ReCAP)

The Research Career Accelerator Program (ReCAP) is a seminar series designed for Stanford junior faculty, fellows, and postdocs who are recipients of individual career development awards (CDAs) from the government (e.g., K awards) or from professional societies. ReCAP provides an opportunity for CDA awardees to interact with their peers in the School of Medicine community and to learn from senior faculty how best to position themselves for future success.

Overview

ReCAP offers a series of monthly seminars devoted to scientific and career development and creates opportunities for socializing and networking.

ReCAP seminars are held on the last Friday of each month from 12:00PM–1:30PM. Topics covered include professional development, cross-cutting scientific issues, writing and speaking, grant preparation, Stanford resources, and others. As there is a substantial benefit from peer-to-peer communication, particularly across research disciplines, seminars include 20–30 minutes of small group interactions.

Eligibility

  • Junior faculty, fellows and postdoctoral scholars within the first two years of receiving an individual career development award (CDA) from the government or from professional societies.
  • Commitment to attend 80% or more of the instructional/discussion seminars within a calendar year.

Application

ReCAP begins each year in January. If you are interested in applying for the 2024 program, complete the application form.
