Defining Meaningful Change in Chronic Pain Treatment

About the Study

We are developing new technology with the future goal of helping researchers and clinicians better assess ‘meaningful change’ in patients’ chronic pain treatment. It is extremely important that we include the perspectives of patients who live with chronic pain in this effort so that the end product is informed by patient voices. Ultimately, our software will help patients and their clinicians work together to treat chronic pain conditions more effectively.

The study consists of an online 30-minute survey which can be completed from the comfort of your own home. After collecting some basic information, we will ask you to complete some standard questions about how much your pain interferes with your regular activities, daily life, and sleep. Then, we will ask you to read some short patient stories with different levels of pain interference (i.e., how much pain interferes with their daily lives) and ask you to rank them by severity (mild, moderate, or severe).

Must be completed on a desktop or laptop.
