Dr. Quan Zhou received prestigious WIMIN Rising Star Award

We are delighted to announce that Quan Zhou, PhD, an Instructor within the Neurosurgery Department and Co-Lead of the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford (MIPS) Trainees Council, has been awarded the prestigious WIMIN Rising Star Award by the Women In Molecular Imaging Network (WIMIN) and the World Molecular Imaging Society (WMIS). Read more about the award and the 2023 World Molecular Imaging Congress (WMIC) highlights here.

This accolade recognizes stellar contributions of early-career women scientists to the field of molecular imaging, with Dr. Zhou's impactful work in molecular targeted fluorescence-guided neurosurgery and theranostic imaging notably standing out. Dr. Zhou has persistently worked towards enhancing resection accuracy of brain malignancies, pioneering predictive therapeutic distribution in brain tumors, and optimizing antibody delivery across the blood-brain barrier.The WIMIN Rising Star Award is not only a reflection of scientific contributions but also a testament to the recipient's unique impact and innovative approaches within the sector and their leadership and exemplary role in advancing women in the scientific field.

The award was determined through a nomination process, which involved a comprehensive evaluation of the nominee's contributions and impact in molecular imaging-focused research or industry, advocacy for advancing women’s careers in science, and support of WIMIN’s goals and vision.
