Summer of Neurosciences (virtual) Program 2024

We are excited to announce the Summer of Neurosciences programs. Our goal is to provide a learning experience and expose students to the many aspects and opportunities in Neuroscience! 

The Comprehensive Neuroscience Program involves three components to share Insights, Investigation and Illumination into the exciting field of Neuroscience. 

Full schedule: We encourage you to apply to the Neuroscience Comprehensive program (Investigation, Insights, Illumination). 

Limited schedule: We encourage you to apply to the Insights program* 

Program Dates:

July 9 – August 8, 2024

Tuesday and Thursday mornings, occasionally Fridays

INVESTIGATION

Weekly Journal Club

Tuesdays 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Journal Club sessions will allow students to delve into real-life research topics. Students will have an opportunity to discuss scientific literature and newsworthy developments in the field of neuroscience and prepare a small group presentation.

INSIGHTS*

Career Insights

Thursdays 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

The Career Insights will provide an opportunity for students to interact with professionals from various career areas and learn about the journey to their professional paths. Students will be able to prepare their own questions and build connections!

ILLUMINATION

Neurology/Neurosurgery Grand Rounds

Fridays 8:00 AM

Select Stanford Neurology/ Neurosurgery Grand Rounds sessions, which cover a wide variety of clinical and basic science topics. Grand Rounds consist of special lectures from faculty and guest speakers that discuss the latest clinical and bench research developments. *Grand Rounds Optional*

* Career Insights will also be offered as a stand-alone program for students with limited availability.

Application and Criteria

  • Age: open to all juniors in high school, seniors in high school, and college students only
  • Requirements:
  1. Complete Application HERE
  2. Ability to commit to the entire duration of the Program*
  3. CV/Resume
  4. Statement (250 words) stating why you wish to take part in the program
