Stanford University School of Medicine founded its Department of Neurosurgery in 1990. Since then, the department has grown and boasts a strong clinical team with world experts in all facets of neurosurgery that provide care through evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments for brain, nerve, and spinal cord diseases and disorders in children and adults.
We acknowledge that patients and their families are eager to learn about neurological disease, identify an appropriate doctor, understand treatment options, and prepare for lifestyle changes. We treat each patient as a unique individual by recognizing that their physical, psychological, and philosophical differences can influence treatment decisions. We encourage open communication between the patient and our team throughout their medical care.
Our department is a leading center for medical research, dedicated to cross-disciplinary studies that translate the latest medical advancements into clinical practice.
Our training, clinical experience, and research efforts are fueled by a genuine commitment to providing exceptional medical care. We prioritize compassion for our patients and their families, and we are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and advanced technology available to effectively treat neurological diseases.
