Shamloo Lab Collaboration and Licensing Opportunities
We collaborate with academic laboratories, non-profit foundations, and biopharmaceutical companies worldwide to support the understanding of human CNS disorders and develop therapeutic interventions. Our overarching goal is to lead and enable translation of scientific discoveries into novel therapeutic approaches that improve the quality of life for patients with disorders of the brain and spinal cord. Our disease models focus includes: cognition and memory, pain, stroke, spinal cord injury, Alzheimer’s disease, Down syndrome, Huntington’s disease, ALS, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Schizophrenia, as well as social interaction.
Dr. Merhdad Shamloo's laboratory has licensed a drug candidate for treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease to Cortice Biosciences. Our laboratory has shown that this clinical candidate is preclinicaly active in model of Alzheimer’s disease and now will be further tested in clinical trials by Cortice Biosciences.
