MRI Safety & Policy Training

IMPORTANT: Anyone who enters (or will potentially enter) any of the MRI Suites at the Lucas Center for any reason is required to undergo initial safety training. Access is not permitted until successful completion. All persons are required to complete an annual safety review to maintain access to the suites.

New Users

Initial MRI Training

MRI Safety Training is mandatory for all new users. To view the class schedule, click here or view the MRI Safety Training calendar via Calpendo.

Instructions:

1. Register as a new user in Calpendo; please use your SUNet ID as your username.

  • Click on Register New User, then select Local.
  • Complete the form, select Register, and proceed to Step #2.

 

2. Use the tab at the top of the page under Training Details to Create the trainings you'll need to begin using the magnet suites.

  • Select the following mandatory trainings:
    • Initial MRI Training

 

  • Select the following optional trainings:
    • 7T Hands-On Training (only if using 7T)
    • 3T1 Hands-On Training (only if using PET/MR)
    • Hands-On Training As Needed (not required)

 

3. Submit, and you're all set! No further action is required, and please expect to receive an invitation (via email) 1 week before the session.

  • Training is by invitation only. Do not share the invitation with anyone. 
  • If you don't receive an invitation, please contact Karla Epperson. Do not create additional trainings.

 

IMPORTANT

A SoM (School of Medicine) Badge is required to gain access to the Lucas Center and Magnet Suites.

Upon completion of the training(s), please send Karla Epperson a picture of the front and back of your hospital badge, alongside the MR Screening and Acknowledgement Forms. She will request magnet access on your behalf.

  • If you do not have a hospital badge, after you've completed the MRI Safety Training(s), please contact Karla Epperson to request the form to submit to the Security Photo ID Office (see below).

Current Users
