Education
I am currently a research assistant at the StREaM Lab. I graduated from San Jose State University with my B.A. in Psychology in Fall 2022. I am a graduate student in Palo Alto University's Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I am pursuing dual licensure for my LPCC and LMFT.
Career
I am primarily interested in mood disorders and our cognitive processing of trauma. I also take great interest in the myriad counseling theories and their applications within diverse cultural backgrounds and systems.
In the past, I worked as a behavior technician with the Center for Autism and Related Disorders. Autism Spectrum Disorder's unique presentation per-client requires a special approach and creativity to properly address, which I believe highlights the importance of a rigorous multicultural approach to providing treatment interventions to all populations.
In the future, I aim to open my own clinic and offer affordable therapy services to underserved communities, both as a humanitarian service and as a proof of concept that mental health services can be offered to anyone, regardless of their background. I hope that in the coming years, I will acquire ample experience with my dual licensure and varied clinical experience to be the most efficacious counselor possible.
About Me
I'm a big fan of learning. I love to learn about most anything, especially if it can help me connect with the people around me. I'm always interested in other cultures. I try to edcuate myself about any culture whenever the opportunity presents itself- whether it's learning the language, eating the food, or learning niche cultural etiquette that is better learned sooner rather than later. I love watching movies. Stalker (1979) by Andrei Tarkovsky is my favorite film of all time, followed by Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas (1990). In my spare time, I'm either programming video games, hiking my local trails, or baking an eggless cheesecake.
