Stress, Resilience, Emotion, and Mood Lab

About Us

What are we about?

Mission Statement

The Stress, Resilience, Emotion, and Mood (StREaM) Laboratory transdiagnostically studies ways that psychobiological stress responsivity is implicated in the emergence and propagation of affective symptomatology. Our team also develops and trials interventions that promote robust and adaptive responses to stress. Current and past projects engage diverse patient populations (e.g., pediatric oncology, pediatric mood disorders, bipolar disorders in adults).

Current Initiatives

  • A longitudinal examination of how psychobiological response to stress predicts executive control in youth undergoing treatment for cancer.
  • A randomized, controlled trial of a virtual, stress-reducing, psyschosocial intervention for youth with mood symptoms.
  • A national survey investigating the impact of caregiver stress on illness in youth with cancer.
  • A randomized, controlled trial of a brief, trauma-informed, psychosocial intervention for caregivers of youth in treatment for cancer.
