  • Testing MK-3475 (Pembrolizumab) as Adjuvant Therapy for Triple Receptor-Negative Breast Cancer

This randomized phase III trial studies how well pembrolizumab works in treating patients with triple-negative breast cancer. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.

  • Sutureless vs Sutured Gastroschisis Closure

This study aims to prospectively assess outcomes of sutureless versus sutured gastroschisis closure with a randomized control trial. The parameters of this trial were determined using our retrospective study as pilot data. Primary outcome measures will be time on ventilator and time to initiating enteral feeds. Other outcome measures will include cosmetic outcome, length of hospital stay and the associated rate of complications, including bowel resection, sepsis, and death.

  • Trial of Panobinostat in Children With Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of panobinostat in treating younger patients with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). Panobinostat may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Stratum 1 treats patients with DIPG that has returned or gotten worse (progressed). Stratum 2 treats patients with DIPG or H3K27+Thalamic Diffuse Malignant Glioma (DMG) that has not yet gotten worse.

  • Photoacoustic Imaging (PAI) of Suspicious Breast Cancers - A Clinical Feasibility Study

After locating the suspicious lesion/mass with standard of care mammography and/or ultrasound, a photoacoustic scan will be performed in the breast where the lesion is located. After the PA scan a biopsy will be performed, if clinically indicated (based on the mammogram and ultrasound only).

  • The Effect of Memantine on Brain Structure and Chemistry in Alzheimer's Disease Patients

The aim of the proposed study is to determine if the NMDA receptor antagonist memantine has a neuroprotective effect on magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRS) measures of brain NAA and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) volumetric measures of hippocampal volume. In secondary analyses, we will determine if measures of clinical stabilization produced by memantine in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD) parallels stabilization of MRS measures of brain NAA and MRI volumetric measures of hippocampal volume.

  • REN-1654 in Sciatica: A Phase 2, Randomized, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled, Multi-center Study in Subjects with Pain due to Lumbosacral Radiculopathy

The purpose of this study is to gain initial safety and efficacy data on the experimental agent REN-1654 in patients with pain that radiates down the leg(s), and is typical of sciatica (lumbosacral radiculopathy). These patients will usually have a herniated disc that is causing compression on the nerves coming out of the spinal column.

  • Prevention of Cardiac Allograft Vasculopathy Using Rituximab (Rituxan) Therapy in Cardiac Transplantation

All people who have a heart transplant are at risk for developing cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV). CAV means narrowing of the heart transplant vessels, which is associated with poor heart transplant function. People who develop antibodies after transplant have a higher risk of developing CAV. Infections, high cholesterol, and rejection also increase the risk of developing CAV. People who develop CAV usually have to receive another transplant.

  • Reduced-Dose Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy With or Without Cisplatin in Treating Patients With Advanced Oropharyngeal Cancer

This randomized phase II trial studies the side effects and how well modestly reduced-dose intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) with or without cisplatin works in treating patients with oropharyngeal cancer that has spread to other places in the body (advanced). Radiation therapy uses high energy x rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known whether IMRT is more effective with or without cisplatin in treating patients with oropharyngeal cancer.

  • Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Stage I Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Specialized radiation therapy that delivers a high dose of radiation directly to the tumor may kill more tumor cells and cause less damage to normal tissue. It is not yet known which regimen of stereotactic body radiation therapy is more effective in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer.

PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying the side effects of two radiation therapy regimens and to see how well they work in treating patients with stage I non-small cell lung cancer.
