  • Pelvic Radiation Therapy or Vaginal Implant Radiation Therapy, Paclitaxel, and Carboplatin in Treating Patients With High-Risk Stage I or Stage II Endometrial Cancer

    This randomized phase III trial studies pelvic radiation therapy to see how well it works compared with vaginal implant radiation therapy, paclitaxel, and carboplatin in treating patients with high-risk stage I or stage II endometrial cancer. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Implant radiation therapy uses radioactive material placed directly into or near a tumor to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known whether pelvic radiation therapy alone is more effective than vaginal implant radiation therapy, paclitaxel, and carboplatin in treating patients with endometrial cancer.

  • Piloting a Mobile Game for Behavioral Therapy

    The following study aims to understand the feasibility of the mobile app and game, GuessWhat, to deliver behavioral therapy to children with autism. The GuessWhat app is a charades style game that engages parent and child in fluid social interaction where the parent must guess what the child is acting out based on the prompt shown on the phone screen. Participants will use their own personal phone to download the study app. The app will walk participants through a variety of charades style games. The interactive games will be video recorded and all data are transferred securely to the Wall Lab for analysis. This study is enrolling parents of children with ASD who are at least 18 years of age and have a child between 3-12 years old. Parents are asked to complete questionnaires before and after playing the GuessWhat game with their child 3-4 times per week for 4 weeks.

  • POWER Study (Prospective Transbronchial Microwave + Robotic-Assisted Bronchoscopy)

    This is a prospective, multicenter, single-arm study on transbronchial microwave ablation using the NEUWAVE FLEX Microwave Ablation System and Accessories on oligometastatic tumors in the peripheral lung, guided by the Auris MONARCH Platform for visualization and access while using cone beam CT (computed tomography) to confirm probe tip placement and final ablation zone. The primary endpoint is Technique Efficacy, assessed 30-days post-ablation via CT imaging.

  • Prospective Aneurysm Trial: High Angle Aorfix™ Bifurcated Stent Graft

    Purpose of this study: The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Lombard Medical endovascular Aorfix™ AAA bifurcated stent graft in the treatment of abdominal aortic, aorto-iliac and common iliac aneurysms with anatomies including angled aorta, angled aneurysmal body, or both, between 0° and 90°.

    Study hypothesis: The primary efficacy hypothesis is the proportion of grafts remaining free from endoleak, migration, and fracture at 12 months.

    Efficacy: The 12 month, all cause mortality rate in the Aorfix™ group will be non-inferior to the 12 month, all cause mortality rate in the Open Control group.

    Safety: The rates of early serious adverse events between 0 and 30 days post-operative in the Aorfix™ groups will be non-inferior to the early serious adverse event rates between 0 and 30 days post-operative in the Open Control group.

  • Transformative Research in Diabetic Nephropathy

    This is a prospective, observational, cohort study of patients with a clinical diagnosis of diabetes who are undergoing clinically indicated kidney biopsy. The intent is to collect, process, and study kidney tissue and to harvest blood, urine and genetic materials to elucidate molecular pathways and link them to biomarkers that characterize those patients have a rapid decline in kidney function (> 5 mL/min/1.73m2/year) from those with lesser degrees of kidney function change over the period of observation. High through-put genomic analysis associated with genetic and biomarker testing will serve to identify key potential therapeutic targets for DKD by comparing patients with rapid and slow progression patterns. Each participating clinical site will search for, consent, harvest the biopsy sample, and enroll the participants as required for the TRIDENT protocol.

  • Panitumumab-IRDye800 in Detecting Cancer in Participants With Lung Cancer During Surgery

    This phase I/II trial studies the best dose and timing of panitumumab-IRDye800 in detecting cancer in participants with lung cancer during the surgery. Panitumumab-IRDye800 is a combination of the antibody drug panitumumab and IRDye800CW, an investigational dye that can be seen using a special camera. Panitumumab-IRDye800 may attach to tumor cells and make them more visible during surgery in patients with lung cancer.

  • Pembrolizumab vs. Observation in People With Triple-negative Breast Cancer Who Had a Pathologic Complete Response After Chemotherapy Plus Pembrolizumab

    The phase III trial compares the effect of pembrolizumab to observation for the treatment of patients with early-stage triple-negative breast cancer who achieved a pathologic complete response after preoperative chemotherapy in combination with pembrolizumab. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. This trial may help researchers determine if observation will result in the same risk of cancer coming back as pembrolizumab after surgery in triple-negative breast cancer patients who achieve pathologic complete response after preoperative chemotherapy with pembrolizumab.

  • Phase 1/2 Study of Enasidenib (AG-221) in Adults With Advanced Hematologic Malignancies With an Isocitrate Dehydrogenase Isoform 2 (IDH2) Mutation

    The primary objectives of Phase 1 Dose Escalation/Part 1 Expansion are:

    - To assess the safety and tolerability of treatment with enasidenib administered continuously as a single agent dosed orally on Days 1 to 28 of a 28-day cycle in participants with advanced hematologic malignancies.

    - To determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) or maximum administered dose (MAD) and/or the recommended Phase 2 dose (RP2D) of enasidenib in participants with advanced hematologic malignancies.

  • Study to Evaluate the Effect of KB001-A on Time-to-Need for Antibiotic Treatment

    The purpose of this study is to confirm and extend the Phase 1-2 KB001 findings of an airway anti-inflammatory effect in CF individuals with chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Pa) airway infection. It is hypothesized that steady-state levels of KB001-A in CF subjects with airway Pa infection will be safe and well-tolerated, and will increase the time-to-need for antibiotic treatment (IV, inhaled, or oral) for worsening of respiratory tract signs and symptoms compared with placebo.

  • Pain Study of Rectus Muscle Closure at Cesarean Delivery

    Suture reapproximation of the rectus muscles at primary cesarean delivery is a common practice about which there are no data. Some Obstetricians believe that suture reapproximation of the rectus muscles increases post-operative pain, and it may decrease adhesions, yet there are no published data to support or refute these claims. The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of rectus muscle reapproximation at cesarean delivery and post-operative pain. We also plan to assess the impact of rectus muscle closure on adhesions as seen at repeat cesarean delivery.

  • Pain Catastrophizing and Prescription Opioid Craving

    Adherence to prescription opioid and opioid tapering as indicated are critical for safe chronic opioid therapy for chronic pain, but this can be difficult for patients experiencing prescription opioid craving. Because pain catastrophizing is proposed as a possible treatment target by our and others' preliminary results, the proposed study aims to determine whether pain catastrophizing is a treatment target to reduce prescription opioid craving and to investigate whether negative affect and stress hormones are potential mediators. The findings from the current study will inform whether a psychology intervention to lower pain catastrophizing will reduce opioid craving, and whether psychological and physical distress as well as cognitive function will be potential mediators of the treatment effect.

  • Preventing HIV Among Native Americans Through the Treatment PTSD & Substance Use

    Investigators will conduct a two-arm, comparative effectiveness randomized controlled trial of two culturally adapted, empirically based programs (EBP) - Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) vs. Motivational Interviewing with Skills Training (MIST) in terms of lowering HIV sexual-risk behaviors (HSB) for American Indian / Alaska Native (AIAN) men and women. NET addresses Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a pathway to preventing substance use disorders (SUD) and HSB whereas MIST addresses substance misuse as a way of preventing SUD and HSB.

  • S0016 Combination Chemotherapy With Monoclonal Antibody Therapy in Newly Diagnosed Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

    RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Monoclonal antibodies can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver radioactive tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. It is not yet known which monoclonal antibody plus combination chemotherapy regimen is more effective in treating non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

    PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is comparing 2 different monoclonal antibodies given together with combination chemotherapy to see how well they work in treating patients with newly-diagnosed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
