Upcoming 2026 Speaker

Dr. Elizabeth A. Spencer will be joining the Stanford Medicine Children’s Health Center for IBD and Celiac Disease Research Seminar Series to present “Two Frontiers in IBD: Prevention Clinic Implementation and Skin Tape Transcriptomics for Precision Care.” In this session, Dr. Spencer will highlight two innovative approaches reshaping pediatric IBD care: the use of noninvasive skin-tape transcriptomics to enable precision monitoring and therapy selection, and the design and implementation of a dedicated IBD Prevention Clinic for individuals at elevated risk—beginning with first-degree relatives of patients with IBD. Her talk will showcase how these complementary frontiers are advancing early detection, individualized care, and proactive disease prevention.
