Our Research Program

The Stanford Medicine Children’s Health Center for IBD and Celiac Disease houses an interdisciplinary research program, where cutting-edge research in translational science is at the forefront of our mission. Our dedication lies in advancing knowledge and understanding in the fields of pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and celiac disease to improve the lives of youth and their families.

Our ultimate goal in pediatric research is two-fold:

  1. Improved Therapies: We strive to develop innovative, targeted therapies and interventions that effectively manage and treat pediatric IBD and celiac disease. By harnessing the power of translational science, we aim to provide young patients with safer, more efficient, and less invasive treatments that can enhance their quality of life.

  2. Enhanced Quality of Life: We understand the challenges faced by children and adolescents living with IBD and celiac Disease, as well as the emotional toll it takes on their families. Through our research efforts, we aspire to alleviate the burden of these diseases by improving early diagnosis, optimizing disease management, and fostering a better understanding of the psychosocial aspects of these conditions.

Our Commitment

We are committed to fostering a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment. By bringing together patients, clinicians, scientists, and specialists from diverse fields, we maximize our ability to make groundbreaking discoveries and positively impact the lives of pediatric patients. Through our website, we aim to share our research findings, engage with the wider scientific community, and provide resources for patients and their families. Together, we can create a brighter future for children living with IBD and Celiac Disease through the power of translational science.
