Led by Dr Schiel, the Santa Maria received a Stanford SPARK translational grant to explore treatments to develop NLRP3 inhibitors for hearing loss. This is on the back of groundbreaking research by the Santa Maria Lab creating the first animal model of NLRP3 hearing loss and proving it can be prevented therapeutically.
