The Santa Maria Lab, in collaboration with the Knox Lab, published its findings in Scientific Reports about the efficacy of locally administered HB-EGF in the prevention of radiation induced mucositis. This problem effects over 400,000 in the US every year and can provide severe pain around the time of trying to treat a person’s cancer. This opens the pathway for the lab to work on delivery within the oral cavity.
