The Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Program at Stanford School of Medicine and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford (LPCH) is an ACGME accredited 3-year training program designed to prepare physicians who are board eligible in pediatrics to become leaders in the field of pediatric endocrinology and diabetes in academic or clinical medicine.
Each fellow completes one year of clinical training and two years of either basic science, clinical or translational research and participates in grant writing and a quality improvement project. Clinical training is performed both on Stanford campus at the Mary L. Johnson Pediatric Ambulatory Care clinic and at Stanford Children’s Health endocrinology clinics located in neighboring communities, Los Gatos and Sunnyvale.
The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology announces two opportunities for training in Pediatric and Adolescent Gender Medicine. First, the Primary Care Gender Fellowship (non-ACGME;12 month) invites those who have completed either pediatrics/medicine-pediatrics residency training to apply while the second, the Advance Gender Fellowship (non-ACGME;12 month) invites those who have completed either a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology or Adolescent Medicine (Junior faculty are welcomed to apply as well).
The fellow’s main clinical experience will be in the Gender Clinic where they will learn how to evaluate young people of all ages and stages of their gender journey in seeking medical and surgical gender affirming care.
In addition, the fellow will rotate through various clinics including: Teen, Eating Disorder, Adolescent Gynecology, Urology, Mood Disorder, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Plastics Surgery clinics to be able to provide comprehensive care.
- The fellow will also observe psychotherapy and the most common procedures in Gender Medicine.
- Modules in advocacy, DEI, health disparities, community engagement and medical education will also be part of the curricula.
- Starting date July 2025
