Program Office and Homeroom

The Neurosciences Graduate Program has a designated space in the Neurosciences Building Room E165 where its students can relax, study, and interact with each other. It is also the location of offices for program staff and a conference room that can be reserved for program-related meetings (including thesis committee meetings).

Access

University ID badges must be activated for access to ChEM-H/Neuro Room E165. Follow these steps to request access:

  1. Complete the STARS training course General Safety, EHS-4200 and save evidence of completion - either the certificate of completion or a screenshot of your training history in STARS. You'll need to upload the documentation to your request for access.
  2. Submit a help ticket at https://chemhneuro.stanford.edu/get-help. Where it says Lab Name, enter "Neurosciences IDP" and provide your Stanford University ID Card # (number under your name on the card). Note that the SOM/Medical Center ID will not work here, they want your Stanford University ID card.
  3. Be sure to upload documentation of completing the training module to your help ticket.

Community Norms

In creating these Community Norms, we strive to promote a safe and respectful environment for students, faculty, staff, and guests.

  • In simplest terms, be courteous of others and clean up after yourself :-)
  • Please keep this space clean and neat by wiping tables after use, washing and putting away kitchenware, and disposing of trash in designated receptacles.
  • Food left in the refrigerator and cabinets should be labeled with your name and disposed of in a timely manner. Please avoid using the mini fridge to store leftovers. Do not leave perishables in the cabinets.
  • If there is no space in the cabinet or refrigerator to store drinks, ask Amanda or Korshid for help.
  • For evening and weekend meetings with food, please dispose of catering trays and food trash in the bins outside. Cardboard boxes should be broken down and put on the cart across from the Facilities office.
  • Please avoid leaving catering trays of leftover food in the refrigerator. You are welcome to use the ziploc bags in the cabinets to take leftovers home or put individual portions (with names on them) in the refrigerator.
  • You are welcome to rearrange the mobile furniture to suit your needs but please put it back in the original arrangement before leaving. Per building policy, do not take furniture outside or to other rooms, or borrow furniture from outside or other rooms.
  • Make sure doors are closed and locked behind you when you leave, especially after 5pm.
  • If you’d like to borrow the gray cart, please check with Amanda or Korshid before taking it.
  • Bicycles are not permitted in E165. Bicycle racks are located outside for your convenience.
  • There is a shared printer in the hallway behind the elevator that you can use to print or scan with your Cardinal Print account. Learn more about Cardinal Print in our building here

Students may bring issues or concerns regarding the use of this space to the attention of your Student Program Committee or Kalai Diamond
