The Neurosciences graduate program seeks to provide a broad background in Neuroscience to all students while allowing individuals to dive deeply into their chosen subfield of interest. Our primary goal is to develop leaders within their respective fields who think independently and have the technical, professional, and intellectual skill sets needed to be successful, and to  provide opportunities that place students in the strongest position to obtain their job of choice. We believe that training in the fundamentals of research can generally serve as a cornerstone for many career paths. Rigor in experimental design, data collection, analysis, and data interpretation is broadly applicable and thus forms the foundation of training for each entering student. Working as part of team, both within a lab and across laboratories, and good communication - both verbal and written - are critical skills that we try to instill into our students.
