Koko Full Sleep Study

What is Full Sleep?

This study looks at a sleep device and digital program, Full Sleep, to see whether it is more effective than treatment as usual, Path to Better Sleep, for people with insomnia. Both Full Sleep and Path to Better Sleep offer app-based or online Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), which is the “gold standard” treatment for insomnia. Both treatments include daily lessons about sleep along with sleep questionnaires, sleep tracking and sleep skills that are delivered either online or through a phone app. In addition, Full Sleep includes a bedside device that will help to track sleep.

What would I have to do?

Participants will need to complete at least one lesson per day, which will take about 5-15 minutes. They will also need to record information about their previous night’s sleep in an online or app-based sleep log.

Participants in the Full Sleep condition will be able to message a coach through the app with questions about lesson content and recommended skills. They will need to set up their Full Sleep device by the bed using instructions provided through the app. This device uses radar technology to passively track activity patterns and offers additional features for relaxation.

Can I participate in the study?

Participants who are 18 years or older, have either diagnosed or suspected insomnia, have access to the internet and a modern smartphone, and have 15 minutes available each day to complete lessons and learn skills may be eligible for the study. They will receive a $50 Starbuck, Target or Amazon gift card after completing the CBT-I program and another $50 gift card after completing a 3-month follow-survey.
