Master of Laboratory Animal Science (MLAS)
Advanced Careers in Biomedical Research - Join Us!
The Master of Laboratory Animal Science (MLAS) degree program is a flexible, one to two year graduate program designed for students who want to pursue advanced careers in biomedical research. Our focus is on animal modeling and biomethodology, laboratory animal science, organizational management and facility design, regulatory and compliance, and animal welfare.
The MLAS program is designed to give students the ability to customize their academic research experience. One person may be studying neuropathways, another animal welfare, and this creates a dynamic community of students.
The program’s academic courses build a solid foundation for a successful career in laboratory animal science and biomedical research. Our graduates find employment in biotech and pharmaceutical companies; academia, government and advocacy groups; or they pursue training in medical or veterinary schools.
Coterminal degrees for Stanford undergraduates
The Master of Laboratory Animal Science degree program may also be taken by Stanford undergraduate students as a coterminal degree program.
