Where do Our Residents Go Next?

Academia, research, industry ... our residents have many options.

Our residents are well prepared for a career in laboratory animal medicine and have gone on to various positions in academia, research, and industry, and self-employment.

About one third of our resident alumni move on to hold positions in higher education institutions like Stanford, UC Davis, UC Irvine, Duke, Wayne State, and Harvard. Many have chosen to continue their careers at research centers like Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, National Primate Research Center, Palo Veterans Institute for Research, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the Veterans Administration Hospital. Biotech and the pharmaceutical industries such as Labcorp, Charles River, and Janssen Pharmaceutical, and self-employment also attract our resident alumni.
