Research and Methods Core

The Research and Methods Core addresses the needs of the research projects by 1) coordinating the collection of similar measures across research projects to enable inference as to the relative value of different income intervention programs, 2) working with project investigators to coordinate methodological approaches for inference, and 3) coordinating with project investigators to use estimates from their analytic data-based models for inputs to a mathematical model that will predict population-level changes in colorectal cancer incidence in persistent poverty areas. The Research and Methods Core works to train early-stage researchers in the use of survey data and real-world administrative data that can be used to evaluate multilevel experiments (both actual experiments and natural experiments). The Research and Methods Core supports the Developmental Core by providing data resources and consulting to pilot project investigators working to meet the needs of the primarily Latino and Vietnamese communities in the persistent poverty areas of Santa Clara and Yolo Counties.
