Community Core

Leveraging the extensive infrastructure of community-focused partnerships at Stanford, UCSF, and UCD, the Community Core is the spine of the Center, integrated throughout its projects, cores, and activities. The Developmental and Career Engagement Cores are focused on supporting community-driven projects and programs. The Research and Methods Core is working alongside the Center’s community partners to develop mathematical models partners can use to inform cancer policy and practice in persistent poverty areas. The Upstream Research Center is collaborating with the California Department of Social Services and its local partners to better understand how income supplementation can reduce cancer inequalities in persistent poverty areas. In addition to the partners associated with each core and research project, the Center’s Regional Coalition provides ongoing strategic and operational guidance and input.
