Residency Rotations

Residency Rotation in Newborn Medicine

There are two versions for the residency rotation in Newborn Medicine Curriculum. The first, from the AAP, contains all the content related to newborns that a graduating third year resident should know. Because this curriculum also covers information and experiences from other rotations (NICU, clinic settings), we developed a LPCH Newborn Nursery Curriculum that includes only the content covered in the nursery itself and expands on some areas of newborn care that we feel deserve special attention.

Residency Rotation in Community Pediatrics

The Fundamentals of Primary Care rotation provides an opportunity for focused attention on well-child care, pre-participation sports exams, and evaluation of concerns related to learning and behavior at school.  The rotation represents an evolving collaboration with members of the Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics team and the LPCH Family Advocacy Program with emphasis on social determinants of health and community-based aspects of pediatric care.
