TDS Announces New Collaboration Tool Trainings

Ready to up your virtual collaboration game? TDS has developed a series of hands-on and web-based trainings that focus on the School of Medicine's preferred collaboration software. Sessions are free to members of the School of Medicine community - but registration is required.

Do More with Box

In this hands-on training session, TDS’ Daniel Catura will show how you can maximize the value of your content with Stanford Medicine Box. You'll also get useful tips and pointers for making Box software work better for you.

What we’ll cover:

  • getting started with Box
  • uploading and adding content
  • creating and organizing folders
  • sharing documents and collaborating
  • downloading and navigating Box Drive
  • doing more with tips, tricks, and best practices

Requirements: You'll need to bring along a laptop that you can use to access Stanford Medicine Box. If you have never logged into Medicine Box or are unsure whether your laptop meets the minimum security requirements to access Medicine Box, call the IRT Service Desk (650-725-8000). If you do not have access to a laptop, email Amit Srivastava.

Slack Like a Pro

This hands-on session, led by TDS' Slack training expert Armmond Greene and Allie Nakonek from Slack, will help you understand how to use Slack to make your day-to-day work easier and more efficient. 

What we’ll cover:

  • navigating the Slack interface
  • finding workspaces and creating channels
  • common commands to do more, quickly
  • getting help from Slackbot
  • using Slack integrations, including Google Docs

Requirements: If you don't already have a Slack account, we can help you create one before the session starts. To do this, you'll need to be an employee with a Stanford email address or have a paid sponsorship or a base sponsorship with a valid outside email address.
