    This research trial studies saliva, semen, and blood samples to determine effects of chemotherapy on fertility in osteosarcoma survivors. Study biospecimen samples from osteosarcoma survivors in the laboratory may help doctors learn whether chemotherapy causes fertility problems and to learn more about the long term effects.

  • Cisplatin and ZD1839 + Re-Irradiation in Recurrent Squamous Cell Cancer of the Head and Neck

    To determine safety profile of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) antagonist, ZD1839 in combination with cisplatin and radiation therapy in patients with local-regional recurrent squamous cell cancer of the head and neck.

    To study the effects of ZD1839 combined with either cisplatin or radiotherapy on signal transduction pathway gene expression in tumor cells in patients with local-regional recurrent squamous cell cancer of the head and neck using micro array analysis from tumor samples taken at the time of relapse and during treatment.

  • Bevacizumab or Pemetrexed Disodium Alone or In Combination After Induction Therapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Non-Squamous Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

    RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of non-small cell lung cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Pemetrexed disodium may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether giving bevacizumab or pemetrexed disodium alone or in combination is more effective in treating non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer.

    PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying bevacizumab and pemetrexed disodium alone or in combination after induction therapy to see how well they work in treating patients with advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer.

  • Chemotherapy With or Without Trastuzumab After Surgery in Treating Women With Invasive Breast Cancer

    This randomized phase III clinical trial studies chemotherapy with or without trastuzumab after surgery to see how well they work in treating women with invasive breast cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) and giving chemotherapy after surgery may kill more tumor cells. Monoclonal antibodies, such as trastuzumab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. It is not yet known whether combination chemotherapy is more effective with trastuzumab in treating breast cancer.

  • Brentuximab Vedotin and Gemcitabine Hydrochloride in Treating Younger Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Hodgkin Lymphoma

    This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and the best dose of brentuximab vedotin when given together with gemcitabine hydrochloride and to see how well they work in treating younger patients with Hodgkin lymphoma that has returned or does not respond to treatment. Monoclonal antibodies, such as brentuximab vedotin, may find cancer cells and help kill them. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving brentuximab vedotin together with gemcitabine hydrochloride may kill more cancer cells.

  • Combination Chemotherapy and Surgery With or Without Isotretinoin in Treating Young Patients With Neuroblastoma

    RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin, cyclophosphamide, etoposide, and doxorubicin hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Isotretinoin may help neuroblastoma cells become more like normal cells, and grow and spread more slowly. Giving combination chemotherapy before surgery may make the tumor smaller and make it more likely that the tumor can be surgically removed. It is not yet known what is the minimal amount of chemotherapy needed to achieve sufficient tumor shrinkage to control intermediate risk neuroblastoma and prevent tumor recurrence or metastases.

    PURPOSE: This phase III trial is designed to reduce therapy for patients with favorable biology intermediate risk neuroblastoma by decreasing the number of chemotherapy cycles administered and by allowing for up to 50% residual tumor volume for patients with localized disease.

  • A Phase 1b Master Trial to Investigate CPX-351 in Subjects With Previously Untreated Acute Myeloid Leukemia

    JZP025-101 is an open-label, multicenter, multi-arm, nonrandomized phase 1b master trial to determine the recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D) of CPX-351 when administered in combination with various targeted agents in previously untreated subjects with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) who are fit to receive intensive chemotherapy (ICT).   • ABSORB III Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT)

    The ABSORB III RCT is a prospective randomized, single-blind, multi-center trial. It is the pivotal trial to support the US pre-market approval (PMA) of Absorb™ Bioresorbable Vascular Scaffold (BVS).

    The ABSORB III includes additional two trials i.e. ABSORB III PK (pharmacokinetics) sub-study and ABSORB IV RCT trial which are maintained under one protocol because both trial designs are related, ABSORB IV is the continuation of ABSORB III and the data from ABSORB III and ABSORB IV will be pooled to support the ABSORB IV primary endpoint. Both the trials will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Absorb BVS.

  • Bumetanide in Patients With Alzheimer's Disease

    This study aims to investigate bumetanide in patients with biologically confirmed Alzheimer's disease (AD). Bumetanide is a potent diuretic administered orally and is FDA approved for the treatment of edema and hypertension. Repurposing bumetanide as a medication for AD has been proposed based on data that demonstrated its ability to "flip" the APOE genotype-dependent transcriptomic signatures in AD mouse and cell culture models. Critically, this discovery was subsequently explored in Electronic Health Record cohorts, which revealed that among individuals over the age of 65, bumetanide exposure was significantly associated with a lower prevalence of AD in three independent datasets.

    Primary Objective: To evaluate the safety and tolerability of bumetanide when administered to participants with biomarker-confirmed Alzheimer's disease.

    Secondary Objective: To evaluate the clinical and biomarker effects of bumetanide in participants with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia due to Alzheimer's disease.

    This is a research study using Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor (GCSF) as a bone marrow stimulating agent for imaging to guide radiation treatment planning. G-CSF is a type of growth factor. Growth factors are proteins made in the body.   • A Study of Atezolizumab in Combination With Nab-Paclitaxel Compared With Placebo With Nab-Paclitaxel for Participants With Previously Untreated Metastatic Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (IMpassion130)

    This multicenter, randomized, double-blind study evaluated the efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics of atezolizumab (MPDL3280A) administered with nab-paclitaxel compared with placebo in combination with nab-paclitaxel in participants with locally advanced or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) who have not received prior systemic therapy for metastatic breast cancer (mBC). The safety of single-agent nab-paclitaxel has been determined in previous studies of participants with mBC and the safety data to date suggest that atezolizumab can be safely combined with standard chemotherapy agents.
