  • Temozolomide Plus Vorinostat in Relapse/Refractory Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)

    The purpose of the study is to first determine if temozolomide plus vorinostat in combination can control relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and determine if this combination can be safely taken. The study will look at the side effects of the Temozolomide plus Vorinostat in combination and whether the treatment schedule is tolerated.

  • Safety and Tolerability of ABM-1310 in Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors

    This is a Phase I, First-In-Human, open label, dose escalation and dose expansion study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary anti-cancer activity of ABM-1310 in adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors who have no effective standard treatment options available, as monotherapy in patients with documented BRAF V600 mutation, or in combination with cobimetinib (Cotellic®) in adult patients who have documented BRAF mutation and progressive disease or intolerance to at least one prior line of systemic therapy.

  • Social Adaptation in Long Term Survivors of Blood and Marrow Transplantation

    1. To explore specific aspects of social adaptation such as social connectedness, occupational outcomes and family relationships in lymphoma patients after autologous blood or marrow transplantation (BMT).

    2. To investigate how social adaptation varies with time lapsed since BMT and with the life stage as determined by patient?s age. Understanding both the positive and negative aspects of cancer and cancer therapy leads to opportunities to promote adaptive strategies.

  • Transanastomotic Tube for Proximal Esophageal Atresia With Distal Tracheoesophageal Fistula Repair

    This trial will compare the effectiveness of two common surgical practices for Type C esophageal atresia repair: esophageal atresia (EA) with distal tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF). Infants with EA/TEF requiring surgical intervention will be recruited. Subjects will be randomized to either repair with or without transanstomotic tube (TT) during esophageal anastomosis creation. Primary outcome is symptomatic anastomotic stricture development requiring dilation within 12 months.

  • Theta-burst Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

    Theta-burst transcranial magnetic stimulation (TBS) is a type of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) method that reduces the excitability of a small region of brain for less than one hour. Since dystonia and spasticity may be associated with increased excitability of motor cortex, we expect that by reducing the excitability of motor cortex with TBS we will temporarily improve these symptoms and hopefully open avenues in the future for the use of TBS as a new, non-invasive therapeutic intervention to aid in physical therapy and symptom amelioration of dystonia and spasticity. We will test for motor improvement during the hour immediately following TBS using tests of muscle function and quality of limb movement.

  • Study To Evaluate The Efficacy And Safety Of Oral PF-06651600 And PF-06700841 In Subjects With Moderate To Severe Crohn's Disease

    The objectives of this study are to evaluate the efficacy, safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of PF-06651600 (200 mg for 8 weeks followed by 50 mg for 4 weeks) dosed once daily and PF-06700841 (60 mg for 12 weeks) dosed once daily during an induction period of 12 weeks, followed by an open label extension period at doses of 50 mg and 30 mg of PF 06651600 and PF 06700841, respectively, for 52 weeks.

  • Treatment of Adult Traumatic Rib Fractures With Percutaneous Cryoneurolysis

    The purpose of this research study is to examine the effectiveness of using the Iovera Smart Time 190, for ultrasound-guided cryoneurolysis, in trauma patients 18-64 years old with rib fractures that are not candidates for surgical stabilization. This will offer patients the benefits of cryoneurolysis of the intercostal nerves, thereby providing short and long term pain control while their ribs heal.

  • Thoracotomy Versus Thoracoscopic Management of Pulmonary Metastases in Patients With Osteosarcoma

    This phase III trial compares the effect of open thoracic surgery (thoracotomy) to thoracoscopic surgery (video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery or VATS) in treating patients with osteosarcoma that has spread to the lung (pulmonary metastases). Open thoracic surgery is a type of surgery done through a single larger incision (like a large cut) that goes between the ribs, opens up the chest, and removes the cancer. Thoracoscopy is a type of chest surgery where the doctor makes several small incisions and uses a small camera to help with removing the cancer. This trial is being done evaluate the two different surgery methods for patients with osteosarcoma that has spread to the lung to find out which is better.

  • Sanofi H1N1 Influenza Vaccine Administered at Different Dose Levels With and Without AS03 Adjuvant in Healthy Adult and Elderly Populations

    The purpose of this study is to see how the body reacts to different strengths of the H1N1 flu shot when it is given with or without an "adjuvant." An adjuvant is a substance that may cause the body to produce more antibodies when it is given with a vaccine. This study will also compare how age affects the body's response to the H1N1 flu shot. In this study, 3 strengths of the H1N1 flu shot will be tested combined with an adjuvant. In addition, 2 strengths of the H1N1 flu shot will be tested without adjuvant. Two H1N1 flu shots of the same strength, with or without adjuvant, will be given about 3 weeks apart. Participants will include up to 800 healthy adults, approximately 500 individuals ages 18-64 and 250 individuals greater than or equal to age 65. Study procedures include: physical exam, blood samples, completing a memory aid to record vaccine side effects, medications and daily oral temperature. Participants will be involved in study related procedures for up to 13 months.

  • The Maintenance of Human Atrial Fibrillation

    Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most prevalent heart rhythm disorder in the United States, affecting 2.5 million individuals in whom it may cause stroke, palpitations, heart failure, and even death. Unfortunately, therapy for AF is limited. Anti-arrhythmic or rate-controlling drugs are poorly tolerated, with frequent side effects and do not reduce stroke risk. Ablation is an emerging, minimally invasive therapy that has attracted considerable attention because it may eliminate AF. Unfortunately, AF ablation is technically challenging, with a success of only 50-70% (versus >90% for other arrhythmias) and serious risks. A major cause of these limitations is that the mechanisms for human AF are not known and thus ablation cannot be directed to them. As a result, AF ablation is empiric and results in extensive destruction of the atrium.

    This project will perform research to better understand AF and determine if abnormal activity in small regions or more widespread regions of the heart cause AF. By performing these studies in patients during clinical procedures, this project may lead to a paradigm shift in the understanding and treatment of AF.

  • Safety and Efficacy of LDV/SOF Fixed-Dose Combination (FDC) ± Ribavirin in HCV Genotype 1 Subjects

    This study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and antiviral efficacy of ledipasvir/sofosbuvir (LDV/SOF) fixed-dose combination (FDC) with or without ribavirin (RBV), administered for 8 or 12 weeks of treatment in participants with chronic genotype 1 hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection who are treatment-naive, and for 12 weeks in participants who had previously received a regimen containing a protease inhibitor for the treatment of HCV.

  • Testosterone Replacement Therapy in Advanced Chronic Kidney Disease

    Muscle wasting is common in advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) and adversely affects morbidity and mortality. In 2/3 of males with advanced CKD serum testosterone (TT) levels are reduced, and likely contributes to the wasting. As TT in relatively safe physiologic replacement doses, increases muscle mass in otherwise normal TT deficient subjects, we hypothesize that physiologic TT replacement will be effective in preventing and treating the loss of muscle mass and function in CKD patients, will improve quality of life and may reduce some cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors.
