Katie Ettman
Food and Agriculture Policy Manager

Bio

Katie supports SPUR’s work to create a Bay Area where everyone has enough food to lead a healthy life and where we produce food in a way that supports both the environment and an equitable economy. In addition, she serves on both the CUESA Education Committee and the SF Market Strategy Committee. Prior to joining SPUR, she worked with the Food Bank of the Rockies in Denver, Colorado managing the procurement of fruits and vegetables for 30 counties in Colorado and the state of Wyoming. Katie earned her Master’s of Public Administration from The University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Communication and Community and International Development from The University of Vermont. Her favorite food is asparagus! 


Andy Ollove
Food Access Program Director

Bio

Andy Ollove is the Food Access Program Director at Fresh Approach. Andy has been working to build resilient food systems since 2014. In that time, he has been particularly focused on increasing the linkages between small-scale, mission-driven farms to communities who have historically been denied access to healthy food landscapes. Andy has developed unique program interventions around the country, he has worked with corner store owners in the Bronx, food pantries in Brooklyn, gas stations in the Navajo Nation, farmers’ markets in Mexico, and cooperatives in rural Maine. In the Bay Area, he leads food access work at Fresh Approach, managing a diverse portfolio of projects including mobile farmers’ markets, traditional farmers’ markets in low-access/low-income neighborhoods, and a wide range of out-of-the-box strategies to improve food security and viability of small farms.

Nanyelis Diaz-Chapman
Program Manager

Bio

Nanyelis Diaz Chapman currently serves as Program Manager for the Office of Kat Taylor. Her work includes facilitating outreach and partnerships for Growing The Table, an initiative to support the best of California agriculture, especially BIPOC producers, in order to nourish families, reduce food waste, and save farms during the COVID-19 crisis. Her work is focused on shifting demand in the food supply chain towards a regenerative future and ensuring greater racial and gender equity in the new economy. Nanyelis efforts have helped amass nearly 3M in funds overall for the program that have impacted 150+ farmers in California since the beginning of the pandemic. Her passion to assist others has roots in her previous work as a Case Manager for domestic violence survivors at St. Vincent De Paul in San Francisco, CA. She also served as a Child Protection Investigator for the Department of Children & Families in Miami, FL. After migrating from Miches, Dominican Republic at the age of 10, she became a U.S citizen in 2013 while still a Sophomore at The University of South Florida. Diaz holds Dual Degrees in International Affairs and Criminal Justice. Her favorite foods are tacos, empanadas, and tres leches cake.


Katie Panarella
Community Supports Program Director

Bio

Katie Panarella is the Community Supports Program Director with Anthem Blue Cross, Special Programs. She has been with Anthem since 2021 building out Enhanced Care Management and provider networks; ensuring that all 14 services are in Anthem's 16 County area. Her career has focused on research, evaluation and development of impactful nutrition education and food security programs at the local, state and federal levels. She is passionate about engaging and aligning community partners with shared goals to develop innovative solutions that address social determinants of health and improve health outcomes for underserved and marginalized populations.


Becky Silva
