Kevin M. Alexander, MD, FACC, FHFSA

Kevin M. Alexander, MD is a cardiologist with specialized training in advanced heart failure. Dr. Alexander works at Stanford University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine. Dr. Alexander sees a wide spectrum of patients and specializes in the treatment of severe heart failure and transplant situations. Dr. Alexander specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis, a serious but underdiagnosed cause of heart failure in African Americans and the elderly. With funding from the National Institutes of Health and the American Heart Association, among other sources, the Alexander lab is conducting substantial research to improve knowledge of the underlying molecular processes of amyloid deposition in transthyretin amyloidosis.
